Martyn ran his first DJ at his own 14^th birthday party 23 years ago! From that tender age, he knew that this was what he wanted to do.
He began by playing in various small pubs in the Merthyr, Aberdare and Rhondda Valleys, where is started to broaden his music knowledge and gain practical experience at entertaining very diverse crowds of party goers.

In 1998 he started working at the university bar of Glamorgan. It was his first taste of nightclub DJing. From there he quickly started getting gigs in major nightclubs in major towns and cities. Chances are, if you went out in Cardiff or Swansea between 2000 and 2013, you would have danced to his DJ set!

He enjoyed residencies in Flares, Reflex, Lloyds bars, and the award-winning Play Nightclub in Swansea around this time,  but maintaining his love of mobile DJing when time allowed.

After playing every venue in Wind Street, Swansea in 2013, Martyn decided to go back to Mobile DJing and began working closely alongside Matthew Wilson of Wedding DJ Cardiff. The business grew, and since then he has played in pretty much every wedding venue in and around the South Wales area, up towards Brecon, in Monmouthshire, and even beyond.

Through this, Martyn gained enormous experience in the wedding industry. This, combined with his 20 years DJing experience and the addition of state of the art equipment, are what enable Obsession Entertainment to now bring the ‘perfect Party’ to each and every client.

We give all our clients the personal touch when it comes to planning their special day, making it not only a spectacular occasion, but also (and almost as importantly) entirely stress free. No matter what the occasion, we are happy to visit venues in advance and meet up to discuss specific requirements where we can.

Our roadshows can be large or small (venue size and access permitting), and use the very best in light and sound technology. They can also include a karaoke element if required. Ambient effects such as smoke/haze/snow or pyrotechnics are available, depending on venue permissions.

As a professionally-run business, Obsession Entertainment is a member of the National Association of DJs (NADJ), possesses Public Liability Insurance, is PAT Certified, and is PPL and Pro Dub Licensed. We are also fully DBS cleared for our work with children.
